Some great events have happened in the hall since its re-opening. After a very successful jumble sale by the Play Area Group, our first Ceilidh evening since the re-opening took place on 14th March, exactly 12 months to the day since the one before closure: a great success again and it raised £270. It is also good to see the Lunch Club, Arty Crafters, History Society and Yoga back in the hall as well as the Bingo and Whist. New sessions are starting up with the Djembe Drummers, Gong relaxation and coffee mornings. The Easter Fair once again offered a range of products across 10 stalls and attracted a good number of visitors. Overall it raised £300.
Some good news from Openreach. After so many delays, we finally have a high speed broadband link up and running!
We are delighted to have gained approval for a Keeping North Devon Connected grant of £2,588 from North Devon Council towards funding a new toilet for disabled people located next to the new ladies’ toilet. It was approved within one week of the application’s submission, which must be a record. Work will start on this facility as soon as possible
The outcome of the Village Hall Community Survey, initiated at the Open Day, shows 93% overall satisfaction with the renovation work to the hall and 55% saying that they will now make more use of the hall.
