Plans to renovate the village hall have passed an important milestone with everyone in the community having the opportunity to view and comment upon the proposed layout and conceptual design of our future village hall at our Open Day on 22nd April.

All the trustees feel a sense of excitement and nervous anticipation that, at last, we are making progress, but without underestimating the enormity of the task in hand to build the vibrant community hub that is our goal.

Over the coming period, we shall be carrying out a house-to-house survey to gather everyone’s opinion on the need for a village hall that is up to modern environmental standards and truly capable of hosting all the activities, events, social gatherings and sporting/fitness events that we, as a remote rural community, need within our village. The results of this, and future surveys we undertake, will feed into funding bids that we make to the National Lottery, and others, as evidence of our community’s NEEDS and SUPPORT for investment and a complete renovation of the hall. This is where you can help because funders will not entertain investing in us without evidence of community surveys and of its involvement in the bid process to demonstrate that NEED and SUPPORT.

With the community behind us, we are very optimistic that we are on the right course to achieve our goal. Our next milestone will be the submission of our application for planning approval before which we will have another Open Day to keep you all involved and aware of our plans.

If you have access, or know of someone who does, you will be able to keep up-to-date by looking at the village hall and community Facebook posts or our website www.chittlehamptonvillagehall.co.uk

Thank you for all your support so far.
