The Trustees and their hardy support network made it for 2nd December! With no little effort from Zoe Nicklin with her supreme project management scheduling, cajoling, arm twisting and, frankly, phenomenal, skills, sufficient tasks were finished in order to allow a first event to take place inside the beautifully revamped and reinsulated space. In the last week, no fewer tasks than boarding out, plastering and painting the entire ceiling and beams were achieved. Lighting and sensors were finalised, a final flurry of painting and a mammoth cleaning effort ready for the grand festive bingo.
Response from the 110 people attending was almost universally extremely positive with plenty of “wows” to warm the hearts of those who have dedicated so much time and effort into the hall.
This event was a “soft” launch to provide a flavour of what has been going on. We are now striving to completely finish this phase—installation of our Air Source Heat pump for the central heating, new ladies toilets* & internet and to finish the painting in the service areas.
We are now viable for holding our regular whist and bingo and we are planning to hold a major Opening Event in the early spring.
More details will follow on that, but in the meantime, please do begin to reuse the hall—bookings through Tony Dellow—540159 or www.chittlehamptonvillagehall.co.uk
